HUUUUGE file.
Oh-my-god. I haven't spent so much time or energy into one piece for, well, for a LONG time. In fact, I believe this is the longest I've ever worked on a piece. This was a REALLY fun yet challenging piece! I wanted to depict an alien creature, my initial thumbnails were of alien creature concepts. I then saw this tutorial -> [link]
And I really wanted to try it, so after playing with alien creature designs and fixing up the composition, I came up with this! The rocks were a pain...and I'm not entirely happy with them. I'm really happy with the galaxy and creature though! I believe this is my best work as of yet! I was way more careful with the lighting this time around. I really worked hard on the textures and colors. They were all challenging and frustrating at times, but my effort really paid off in my opinion. I don't have a name for this creature yet. Any suggestions? This took over a hundred layers. For any beginners in digital painting, wouldn't advice this. XD LOTS of refining and detail work while still keeping a pit of a 'paintery' feel to it. I was striving for a kind of surreal, abstract nature while also capturing a slightly more 'realistic' image.
