I wanted to do a spring/summer painting to celebrate the wonderful weather we've been having!

I heard this song on the radio and was inspired to do something like this! I painted my two cats, the dark one is Ninja the orange one is Ginger. They love being outside and love chasing each other! Had fun doing this! I was trying to go for a softer lighter mood and feeling. I like it!

This is also my Happy Mother's Day painting!

The composition was difficult, but I worked through it and I think the composition worked out! Just took a lot of tweaking.
I used [link] brush set.

It's hard to tell but these brushes really helped!

I'd like to start with saying, great color choices! They flow very well and are quite appealing to the eye. The grass blends an a great way, I love the texture you used (especially under the cats for their shadows).

I do have to say though, the cats are much too large in comparison to the tree and distance from the foreground. I would never have guessed they were house cats unless I read the description.

The red flowers were a good idea, but they seem more like they're floating on their own rather than a part of the picture. I think that by making the grass in front as hard-edged as the flowers would help immensely - either that or making the flowers as soft-edged as the grass.

I love the pathway, the texture is subtle but it blends so well; and how you have it fade near the top is perfect!

All in all, I think it's a very serene piece, but needs some work. Keep practicing and you'll get there in no time.
