Darth Binks

I finally completed something!  
I saw this "Darth Jar Jar" joke running around the internet and thought it would be a lot of fun to paint!  I thought the idea was just too hilarious to pass up! Couldn't resist...oh god I need to get a life. XD I actually liked him in the prequels, sue me I know. (please don't unwatch me/kill me for saying that) I've never been a 'normal' person. It's Terryl Whitlatch's fault really, I love everything she designs.
Anyway, I had a blast doing this. It was nice working on a silly fun piece as things in my personal life improve. I actually tried to make him look threatening and scary just for the hell of it. Since he was designed to look innocent and silly it was a fun challenge to turn his features "evil". Like changing his soft puppy-dog eyes into sinister with eyes. Gungans are really fun to draw, they're so expressive and have so many fun shapes and forms! This was also really good practice with rim lighting and reflected light. I really tried, I'm pretty proud of how this turned out. There are things to fix like in any painting but overall I'm pretty happy with it. He's supposed to be wearing gungan armor on his head like the kind of head armor the gungan warriors wear in episode 1. The metal was tricky to depict in the armor. Gave him a "sithy" cloak and an awesome red lightsaber. I'm rather pleased with myself with this one. :3 This was so much fun! I did see the new movie and it was AWESOME! (spoiler: Jar Jar isn't in it, disappointing I know. XD ) It was really fun and I highly recommend it, whether you liked the prequels or not you will love this new movie. And no, I don't actually think he's a secret sith lord or anything.
